During his tenure on the faculty of the Agronomy Department, activities were increases as more money was appropriated to the College of Agriculture. Field test were conducted through much of Georgia; cooperation was secured from individual farmers, railroads, farm schools, county agents, USDA and other organizations; and farm management courses were added to the Agronomy curriculum and taught by Dr. Fain. He helped many student secure work or loans to continue their college studies. he was active in organizing the University Bookstore.
Occupation: Foreman of experiment stations in Knoxville, Tennessee and Blacksburg, Virginia; research professor and professor of Agronomy at the University of Georgia.
