Ivery D. Clifton

Ivery Clifton, a native Georgian, served as Interim Dean between the Flatt and Buchanan administrations. Dr. Clifton added a unique perspective to his administrative duties, having served on department, college and university levels. He had served as Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs for the University, and was known for his teaching skills in agricultural economics. Dr. Clifton was also the first African American Dean at the University. He emphasized the value and need for diversity in the College's faculty and its clientele, and supported the Young Scholars Program to attract minority students to the College.
