What is UGA Extension?

The UGA Extension Office operates through a unique partnership with local county governments, the State of Georgia and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. We translate the science of everyday living for farmers, families and communities to foster a healthy and prosperous Georgia.

For more than a century, we've provided research-based education through a network of committed specialists, agents and volunteers to help Georgians learn, grow and do more.

Program areas:

Agriculture & Natural Resources: our goal in Rockdale County is to assist and educate local farmers, businesses, homeowners, and gardeners with latest agriculture and horticulture information.  We provide soil and water testing, plant identification, plant disease diagnosis, insect identification and control, site visits, private and commercial pesticide licensing.
